About Etienne van Heerden House
The internationally renowned scholar and novelist spent his early days on a farm just outside Cradock. This little house is his “skrywershuisie”. He is a close Antrobus family friend and an ardent supporter of all things Cradock. He visits regularly and always occupies the house named in his honour. Other well-known writers who have stayed here are Deon Meyer and Rachel Holmes (author of Eleanor Marx: a life.) Etienne has finished a few of his world famous and award winning novels in this house.
